Big News! We have a contract to sell part of our property on Williamson Blvd. We have until June 30, to decide as a church on the contract. To that end, we have several ways to share information with you, answer questions, and have some discussion before we get to the decision.

Here is the basic information on the contract:

We will sell 20-22 acres, depending on the final survey, for $217,000 per acre, on the most northern part of the property. With the proceeds, we plan to pay off the debt, upgrade the Halifax campus, and set some money aside for our western expansion.

Dates to mark on your calendar:

  • June 20, 5:30 pm we will have our last call meeting in the multipurpose room. The information at this meeting will be the same as the initial meetings on June 2, for those who missed but there may be additional information if needed.
  • June 23, 10:15 am in the sanctuary, a Church Conference will be held to vote on the contract. You must be present to vote.
 

Let me express my gratitude to the members of our Property Team and Negotiation Team for the leadership and diligence to get us to this step on our journey. This journey began in 2000, when we purchased 78 acres way out west. Today we begin the next step. A lot has changed both at the church and in the community since the journey began, but God has been with us on each step and I celebrate God’s continued presence on the journey.
