Baptisms
Infant & Child Baptism The decision to baptize a child is a very important one. Because we understand baptism is a sacrament, we believe it is essential for parents to be clear about the meaning of the sacrament. With that in mind, we have developed some helpful tips and guidelines to assist you in your decision about baptism: - You and your child will be scheduled to meet with the pastor prior to the baptism date.
- The baptism will take place early in the worship service so that following the baptism, infants and toddlers may be taken to the nursery, if desired. Please inform your guests who attend the worship service that a well-staffed nursery is available for infants through preschool.
- Following the worship service, the pastor will be happy to gather with the family for pictures. Please let family members know that no flash pictures are to be taken during the service of worship. A video camera may be used while the photographer is seated in the front row.
- During the baptism, the parents may invite family and friends to stand at the altar rail with them.
